What You’ll Do

As a Trainee Quantity Surveyor, you’ll gain experience both in the office and on live construction sites across our regional teams. You’ll learn how to support the commercial delivery of construction projects through tasks such as:

  • Liaising with clients to understand their project needs
  • Estimating quantities, costs, and timescales for materials and labour
  • Preparing tender and contract documentation
  • Identifying, assessing, and managing commercial risks
  • Assigning work to subcontractors
  • Valuing completed work, managing budgets, and overseeing payments
  • Ensuring projects meet legal, quality, and safety standards
  • Providing clients with value‑for‑money commercial advice
  • Preparing and submitting regular cost and budget reports
  • Supporting work on‑site, in the office, or at client locations
What You’ll Learn

Who We’re Looking For

No previous experience is required – just motivation, enthusiasm, and a genuine interest in construction. You will need the required UCAS points to join the Degree Apprenticeship.

You should also have:

  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Analytical and problem‑solving ability
  • Understanding of engineering or construction principles (advantageous but not essential)
  • Good communication skills and the ability to work as part of a team
  • Initiative and a positive, proactive attitude
  • Flexibility and adaptability
  • Respectful and professional behaviour
  • Access to a vehicle and full UK driving licence (or a plan to achieve this)
Where You’ll Work

You’ll work from one of our regional teams: Eastleigh (South Coast), Bristol (South West), Rugby (Warwickshire/Northamptonshire), or Nottingham (East Midlands), supporting projects throughout the regional patch.
