Job description
About The Role

The Temporary Works Coordinator will compile and periodically update a Temporary Works Schedule with all relevant information and periodically review the schedule with the Temporary Works Designer and Project Lead.

What you’ll be doing
  • Support the Project Team with technical guidance, leadership, site safety and monitor the project’s performance to maximise efficiency and project delivery.
  • Coordinate with all parties involved in the design and construction of temporary works to the extent required to deliver safe technical solutions.
  • Liaise with clients to determine if schemes may affect the public and to ascertain the approval process and certifications required.
  • Prepare and review the design brief for adequacy and completeness prior to issuance to Temporary Works Design and ensure that the designer complies with the design brief and adequately describes the residual risks.
  • Ensure that an adequate Temporary Works Design is carried out, manage the progress of the design, and act as a key interface with the Construction Team to understand their requirements and timescales.
  • Ensure that the duration for temporary works designs, checking and construction is realistically timed in the construction programme.
  • Discuss any changes to the design with the TWD and manage the design change process.
  • Ensure that Temporary Works Design Check Confirmation/Approval forms (ENG‑SF‑4004) are issued.
  • Ensure that the risk assessment and mitigation plan is adhered to so technical risks are managed effectively during pre‑construction and delivery phases.
  • Support the Project team with the delivery of Permanent and Temporary Works design requirements and construction activities, construction risk and mitigation, method statements and work package plans.
  • Carry out technical, quality and compliance audit inspections of Temporary Works prior to loading and unloading, to ensure only competent personnel are carrying out on‑site duties (e.g. TWS) and project is following applicable standards and practices with respect to Temporary Works requirements.
  • Draw up and agree with the site team a list of ‘hold points’ for certain operations for which inspection is required prior to work progressing further.
  • Inspect temporary works installations to ensure they are in line with the designs, and monitor any change on site for submission of significant revisions to the designer for re‑design.
Who we’re looking for

  • Self‑motivated and driven, with ability to multi‑task, prioritise and remain calm under pressure.
  • Conscientious, with systematic and thorough approach and a positive attitude towards rules, process and procedures.
