Your Role

In the role of Technology Architect, you will interface with key stakeholders and apply your technical proficiency across different stages of the Software Development Life Cycle including Requirements Elicitation, Application Architecture definition and Design. You will play an important role in creating the Architecture and high level design artifacts. You will also do technical feasibility and identify smart ways of completing client’s requirement. You will guide the team technically and work closely with offshore team acting as a communication medium between the client and offshore. IBM DataPower Gateway Specialist to design, implement, and maintain secure, scalable, and high-performing API and integration solutions. The role involves working closely with architects, developers, and security teams to ensure robust gateway configurations and compliance with enterprise standards.

Key Responsibilities

• Design & Development
  • Configure and manage IBM DataPower appliances for API Gateway, XML Firewall, and Web Service Proxy.
  • Develop and deploy policies for authentication, authorization, encryption, and traffic management.
  • Implement SSL/TLS configurations, certificates, and secure communication channels.
• Integration & API Management
  • Integrate DataPower with API Connect, MQ, and backend services.
  • Support REST, SOAP, and other protocols for secure data exchange.
• Performance & Security
  • Monitor and optimize gateway performance, throughput, and latency.
  • Apply security best practices, including OAuth, JWT, and LDAP integration.
• Troubleshooting & Support
  • Diagnose and resolve issues related to DataPower configurations and deployments.
  • Provide Level 2/3 support for production environments.
• Documentation & Compliance
  • Maintain detailed documentation of configurations, policies, and operational procedures.
  • Ensure compliance with organizational and regulatory security standards.

Skills & Experience

• Technical Expertise
  • Hands‑on experience with IBM DataPower Gateway (XI52, IDG, or virtual editions).
  • Strong understanding of networking, SSL/TLS, and cryptographic concepts.
  • Proficiency in XML, XSLT, XPath, JSON, and scripting (e.g., CLI, SOMA, REST APIs).
• Integration Knowledge
  • Familiarity with API Connect, IBM MQ, and enterprise integration patterns.
  • Experience with OAuth 2.0, JWT, LDAP, and SAML.

Preferred

• IBM Certified Solution Developer – DataPower Gateway.
• Experience with cloud deployments (AWS, Azure, or hybrid environments).
• Knowledge of containerization (Docker/Kubernetes) for DataPower.
• Required travel to Leeds.
