Qualifications

Purpose of Role

Join our team as a Technical Facilities Manager on a key Defence contract at our secure High Wycombe site.

Job Description

In this role, you will lead the delivery of hard FM services across a technically complex site, managing the full PPM and reactive maintenance programme and overseeing the performance of a team of 6 shift engineers. You’ll ensure operational excellence, compliance, and seamless service across all mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and air‑conditioning systems. With the site’s high technical demands, a strong electrical background is essential, and you will be required to hold — or work towards — AP Electrical status while managing the contract.

Security Requirements
  • to the sensitivity of the site, candidates must be UK sole nationals and able to obtain DV (Developed Vetting) clearance.
  • You may start after gaining SC (Security Check) clearance, but will be shadowed on-site for approximately six months until DV clearance is approved.
Responsibilities
  • Manage and deliver the PPM and reactive maintenance programme, ensuring high performance across all engineering activities
  • Lead, motivate, and manage a team of six shift engineers, ensuring strong operational output and technical standards
  • Act as the primary point of contact for all site stakeholders and maintain an excellent client relationship
  • Ensure full compliance with statutory obligations, health & safety, SFG20, and quality standards
  • Conduct regular site audits and maintain an effective assurance and compliance regime
  • Oversee and monitor additional small works and subcontractor performance
  • Support FM reporting, operational planning, and performance tracking against KPIs & SLAs
Essential Qualifications/Skills
  • A relevant technical qualification is essential — ideally electrical — as AP Electrical responsibilities form part of the role
  • Proven track record delivering PPM/reactive programmes and managing KPIs and SLAs
  • Experience managing multi-disciplinary engineering teams, ideally within a technical or critical environment
  • Strong understanding of SFG20, CDM, statutory compliance, and HSE requirements
  • Excellent communication, leadership, and stakeholder engagement skills
  • IOSH (or equivalent) certification required
