What you will do
  • Lead and manage the Duty and Assessment team within Children’s Services, ensuring the delivery of high-quality service and adherence to statutory guidelines.
  • Oversee the assessment and prioritisation of cases, making informed and timely decisions to protect children and support families.
  • Develop and implement strategies that promote team development, performance improvement, and professional growth.
  • Work collaboratively with multi‑agency partners to ensure the best possible outcomes for children and young people.
  • Provide guidance and support to social workers within the team, facilitating regular supervision and fostering a positive work environment.
  • Monitor and manage budgets effectively, ensuring resources are utilised efficiently.
Requirements of the Team Manager
  • Degree or equivalent qualification in social work, with current registration with Social Work England.
  • Recent managerial experience essential, ideally as a Team Manager, Deputy Team Manager, or Assistant Team Manager.
  • Significant frontline experience in Children’s Services, demonstrating a strong commitment and strategic approach to team leadership.
