Salary: Circa £65,000 depending on experience

Dynamic (hybrid) working: Balance of on‑site/off‑site working open to discussion; part‑time can be considered

Security Clearance: British Citizen. Restrictions and/or limitations relating to nationality and/or rights to work may apply. All successful candidates will need to undergo HMG Basic Personnel Security Standard checks (BPSS) after offer.

The opportunity

We are looking for a Systems Engineering Lead to promote and drive best practice across the Data Link Systems group.

You will shape how we approach our programmes, considering the needs and expectations of customers, the capability of technology and third‑party suppliers.

Day‑to‑day you will provide education, training and consultancy‑style system design support to key programmes, tailored to their needs to ensure maximum benefit from best practice use. You will also support development of team members, assessing core Systems Engineering techniques, delivering process improvement and behavioural change.

In the role you will ensure a full lifecycle approach to system design within programme teams, influence the Systems Engineering approach of new business, support established programmes in tailoring processes, and shape direction during phase transitions.

You will work with key partners in MBDA UK and across all MBDA National sites to improve collaboration from a systems engineering viewpoint and engage stakeholders across MBDA sites such as France and Italy.

What we're looking for from you
  • Broad Systems Engineering experience covering the full life cycle.
  • Understanding of state‑of‑the‑art Systems Engineering methods and their application in the domain, including lifecycle issues on major projects.
  • Ability to understand and implement MBSE (Model Based Systems Engineering) methodologies into practising programmes.
  • Capability to work autonomously and proactively, handling multiple issues, tasks and priorities concurrently.
  • Stakeholder management experience.
  • Experience in systems architecture design.
  • Experience supporting colleagues' development.
