Job summary

A leading charitable leisure trust in Bridgwater is seeking a part-time Swim Teacher to deliver swimming lessons to individuals of all ages and abilities. The ideal candidate will have a Level 2 Swim Teaching qualification and excellent communication skills. We will provide all the training needed to be a successful Swim Teacher but we also believe that employing people from a mix of employment backgrounds can offer a wider benefit to our team, some of which might be in their first ever job and need more support from their manager and colleagues.

In the role of Swim Teacher, you will deliver swimming lessons to customers of all ages and abilities ensuring they feel supported and are achieving their goals.

Hours: 6.5 hours per week, Monday - Saturday (rota basis)

Requirements
  • To teach swimming to children and/or adults as part of the Leisure Centre’s swimming lesson programme, according to qualification, training and experience
  • To communicate with the children’s parents/guardians concerning their development, and advise on their progression through the programme
  • To assist in the supervision of customers in the swimming pool and surrounds, ensuring their safety and discipline
  • Welsh Language skills are desirable
  • Excellent communication skills with a genuine desire to work closely with customers.
  • An ability to assist with children and their parents
  • Level 2 Swim Teaching qualification
  • Enhanced DBS check
