Job description

In line with our Leadership Principle, Success and Scale Bring Broad Responsibility, our vision is for AWS to enable the world in solving environmental and social challenges through the power of digital technology. We strive to create more than we consume, to provide the cleanest cloud infrastructure and services, and become the cloud provider of choice for builders who share our commitment to a sustainable future for people and the planet. As part of this responsibility, we ensure AWS can meet current and emerging sustainability reporting regulations globally.

The role of Sustainability Specialist will work with teams across the business to ensure we can meet sustainability-related regulatory requirements.

AWS Infrastructure Services (AIS)

AWS Infrastructure Services owns the design, planning, delivery, and operation of all AWS global infrastructure. In other words, we’re the people who keep the cloud running. We support all AWS data centers and all of the servers, storage, networking, power, and cooling equipment that ensure our customers have continual access to the innovation they rely on. We work on the most challenging problems, with thousands of variables impacting the supply chain — and we’re looking for talented people who want to help.

You’ll join a diverse team of software, hardware, and network engineers, supply chain specialists, security experts, operations managers, and other vital roles. You’ll collaborate with people across AWS to help us deliver the highest standards for safety and security while providing seemingly infinite capacity at the lowest possible cost for our customers. And you’ll experience an inclusive culture that welcomes bold ideas and empowers you to own them to completion.

Key job responsibilities

  • Prepare the business for compliance with global mandatory sustainability disclosure requirements.
  • Manage completion, review and approval of existing regulatory reports
  • Partner with Public Policy, Legal and Infrastructure teams to ensure visibility of existing, emerging and voluntary sustainability reporting requirements
  • Execute cross-functional initiatives that look around corners to meet emerging needs of external stakeholders as they pertain to data center operations
  • Work effectively in an ambiguous and fast-moving environment to meet tight deadlines.
