About the Role

I am looking for a Full-time or two Part-time Support Workers to care for my young Son, who has a complex healthcare condition with epilepsy. He is also blind and cannot communicate verbally.

Due to his conditions, he needs sensory stimulation in order to engage. He requires 1:1 support at all times to keep him safe and well cared for, including support with PEG care, feeds and medication, seizure management, personal care, chest physio, suction and sensory activities.

My Son has a caring and loving personality and a very warm smile. There are 15-35 hours per week to cover which will need to be covered flexibly from Mondays to Fridays with some weekend shifts. As a family, we are open to discussions with the right candidates about what hours or shift patterns they could work.

About You

The ideal candidate will have previous experience in a child care setting.

You will preferably live locally to, or within the area of Newark.

You will be a female, as our client prefers female support.

We are a family from Lithuania originally.

As a family, we speak in English, but can and will speak in Lithuanian, Polish and Russian if English is not your first language.

Support workers need to be patient, caring, understanding of his needs and motivated to be interactive with him; he enjoys sensory stimulation with lights, sound and touch. He enjoys his support workers singing and talking to him, reading books and supporting him to play with sensory toys.

You must also be able to demonstrate a high level of professionalism and integrity, promoting my Son’s independence and respecting him at all times.
