A global technology leader in electrification is seeking a Supply Chain Specialist. This home-based role requires overseeing purchasing and logistics activities, aligning them with corporate policies. Responsibilities include negotiating supplier agreements, overseeing supplier performances, and handling market information for bids. The ideal candidate will have experience in supply chain management, strong communication skills, and be customer-oriented. Familiarity with SAP and ERP systems is essential. Hitachi Energy has an exciting opportunity as a Supply Chain Specialist you'll be reporting to the SCM Manager, you will provide support to the business by ensuring that all purchasing and logistics activities align with corporate policies and procedures.
Purchasing materials, goods & services and contracting transport/logistics services on behalf of the Grid Integration Business according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule and terms.
Initiating purchase orders according to the purchase requisitions and in alignment with standard procedures.
Negotiating agreements with main suppliers and periodically renewing price lists, terms and conditions.
Supporting the bid and proposal teams by providing relevant market information.
Overseeing supplier performance (on-time delivery, quality, lead time) and resolving performance issues.
Identifying and qualifying new suppliers in cooperation with Supplier Quality and Engineering specialists.
Aligning supplier orders with customer requirements in terms of content, quality, delivery, sustainability and price. Living core values of safety and integrity, which means taking responsibility for your own actions while caring for your colleagues, and the business.
Proven experience in in Supply Chain & Logistics Management, working as Buyer Supply Chain Specialist with electrical,mechanical & services suppliers.
Demonstrated experience working with Enterprise Resource Planning (ERP) and Standard Operating Procedures (SOP).
Current Work Permit valid in UK
Knowledge of SAP, Office 365 applications.
A collaborative, solutions-oriented approach, and strong communication skills.
Customer oriented, with excellent organization and strong communication skills.
Mastery in balancing stakeholders, both external and internal.
A technical bachelor's degree (such as Industrial or Electrical Engineering) would be considered a plus but is not essential.
