Job Title: Supervising Social Worker

Working Pattern: Full-time (37.5hrs per week), permanent

An exciting opportunity has arisen for a Supervising Social Worker to join Nexus Fostering. We are looking for a passionate and dedicated social worker based at our Gloucester office, covering foster families across Bristol, Herefordshire, Gloucestershire, Wiltshire, and Worcestershire.

As a Supervising Social Worker with Nexus Fostering, you will manage a manageable caseload, playing a key role in supporting, guiding, and training our foster carers and children/young people. You will collaborate with our dedicated clinical and support teams to ensure the right support is in place for our Carers, Children, and Young People.

You will maintain contact and undertake home visits with foster carers and children/young people, becoming an essential point of contact. Your responsibilities include ensuring children's care and development needs are met within placements through placement management, planning, and intervention for both emergency and planned referrals. As a key team member, you will ensure our children and young people have a safe, stable environment where they feel loved, cared for, and nurtured to reach their full potential.

What we are looking for

To apply for this position, you must:

  • Hold a recognised Social Work qualification
  • Have a current Social Work England registration
  • Hold a full UK Driving Licence and have access to a vehicle
  • Be willing to undertake an enhanced DBS check
  • Have experience in children’s services and foster care delivery
  • Be willing to participate in an out-of-hours telephone support system and undertake occasional out-of-hours/weekend work by attending events, meetings, and training
