Overview

We’re seeking a Structural Engineer to join our expanding team, delivering innovative solutions across a wide range of sectors. You’ll play a key role on power and energy projects, including substations, grid infrastructure, and renewable energy facilities, as well as projects in other industries such as industrial, defence, and transportation.

What You’ll Be Doing
  • Designing and specifying structural elements for diverse projects, with a strong focus on power and energy infrastructure.
  • Producing deliverables including drawings, specifications, and reports in compliance with industry standards.
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to provide safe, efficient, and sustainable solutions.
  • Reviewing calculations, technical drawings, and supplier submissions to ensure quality and compliance.
  • Supporting the development of early-career engineers and contributing to technical excellence.
What We’re Looking For
  • Degree in Civil or Structural Engineering (or equivalent).
  • Demonstrable experience delivering projects in at least one sector BakerHicks operates in – power sector experience desirable.
  • Progressing towards Chartered or Incorporated status with ICE or IStructE.
  • Proficiency in structural analysis software (e.g., MasterSeries, STAAD, Tedds).
  • Strong knowledge of Eurocodes, British Standards, and CDM regulations.
  • Collaborative communicator with the ability to work effectively across disciplines.
  • Eligibility for security clearance (essential for certain projects).
  • UK-based project experience in structural engineering through employment, internship, or graduate placement.
