A facilities management company is seeking a Stores Person for on-site work at HMP Cardiff. Responsibilities include issuing stock to prisoners, keeping accurate stock records, and maintaining cleanliness in the stores. Candidates should be comfortable in a prisoner-facing role and possess a full UK driving licence. This position offers a supportive work environment in the justice sector with comprehensive benefits.
We are excited to offer a fantastic opportunity for a Permanent Stores Person to join our Ministry of Justice (MoJ) in HMP Cardiff, Knox Rd, Cardiff CF24 0UG. This role is based on-site.
The standard hours of work are 39 hours per week (Shift pattern 08:00am to 16:45pm Monday-Friday).
At Amey, we’re supporting our justice client, His Majesty’s Prison and Probation Service (HMPPS) by providing them with safe, clean and efficient prisons. By using our facilities management expertise, we help keep 60 secure premises across England and Wales running smoothly.
What makes this role unique is you will provide a service to both your colleagues and prisoners alike, whilst also working alongside prisoners. Prison Security Clearance will be required (Amey will support you through this process).
Ideally you will have experience of working in a stores/stockroom role.
In addition to this, it would be desirable if you have knowledge of Manual Handling and experience working within a similar storeroom environment with use of IT packages to help you hit the ground running, although this is not essential as we will provide you with the required development you need to bring you up to speed.
We welcome applications from a diverse range of candidates.
