Overview

Location: Lactalis UK & Ireland, Stranraer, Dumfries and Galloway, DG9 7DA
Working Hours: Full Time Permanent (1785 hours per annum)

The Caledonian Cheese Company in Stranraer, part of Lactalis UK & Ireland, now has opportunities for a Stores Operator to work as part of the team making our award-winning, quality cheeses.

Responsibilities
  • Store, load, and unload products throughout the site; remove/store goods; prepare loads for dispatch; and load/unload lorries to support production and operations.
  • Ensure departments run smoothly by performing tasks to protect product safety, legality, and quality; maintain cleanliness; and assist the Stores Manager.
  • Maintain product traceability for legal compliance and comply with safety and quality procedures as part of the Food Safety Management System (including HACCP and external certification standards).
  • Handle basic computer tasks; work both independently and as part of a team.
  • Work will be carried out in low temperatures and outdoor conditions, with lone working a common aspect; role typically based on a 5-day working week covering early, day, and back shifts. Some weekend or out-of-hours work will be required.
  • Having a Forklift Licence, manual handling training, and experience in an industrial environment would be advantageous; training will be provided. Some LGV/HGV experience would also be advantageous.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Basic math and computer skills; understanding of basic food hygiene and HACCP.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Right to work in the UK and ability to understand spoken and written English.
Salary & Benefits

£12.85 per hour + shift premium where applicable; holidays. Benefits include contributory salary sacrifice pension, life insurance, discretionary annual performance bonus, and discounted company product.
