Qualifications

Responsibilities

Job description

Stawell Gold Mine is an underground gold mine located in Stawell; 236 km north‑west of Melbourne. This historic region is known for its rich heritage in the exploration, discovery and production of gold.

SGM currently has an opening for a Store Person. This residential position will be a permanent full‑time engagement on a Monday to Friday day shift roster.

Reporting to the Supply Superintendent you will:

  • Establish, maintain and promote high standards of customer service to internal stakeholders.
  • Maintain the warehouse efficiently and ensure the inventory is optimised, so that parts and equipment for mobile fleet and fixed plant are available to meet organisational and maintenance targets.
  • Be physically capable of performing repetitive duties of bending, lifting & carrying and be willing to work in an underground environment.
  • Liaise with freight companies and suppliers as required to ensure optimal service delivery and undertake unloading and loading of inwards/outwards goods using a variety of equipment.
  • Receive and dispatch goods in an orderly and professional manner.
  • Physically inspect all deliveries and identify damage, shortages, or incorrectly supplied material.
  • Maintain a high standard of housekeeping in all warehouse and lay‑down areas to ensure proper storage of materials and the maintenance of a safe working environment.
  • Comply with all site policies and procedures.
  • Actively participate in continual research and innovation for further process and supply improvement.
  • Maintain both paper and electronic records, work to actively improve warehouse database systems.
  • Undertake regular stock takes of inventory and perform general warehousing tasks.

Candidates must meet the following criteria for the role.

  • Current Victorian manual driver’s licence or equivalent.
  • Be an Australian permanent resident.
