An exciting opportunity has arisen for a caring, compassionate and enthusiastic, experienced Band5 Staff Nurse RMN/RNLD to work within the regional Affective Disorder inpatient Service on Gibside Ward.
The Regional Affective Disorders Service (RADS) provides specialist assessments and treatments to people with difficult to treat mood disorders e.g. bipolar disorder and major depressive disorders. The ward team provide interventions for people with the most complex conditions, with a focus on optimising drug treatments beyond the usual guidelines.
Gibside ward is the inpatient facility of RADS, a 10 bedded unit nursing both male and female patients. The ward has nine inpatient beds for patients with mood disorders. Gibside ward and the Addictions Team have one bed dedicated to the detox service and will work together to support patients through detoxification.
Successful applicants must have a strong commitment to the delivery of high quality, safe patient care. Applicants should have an interest in working within the Affective disorder and the detoxification service. Applicants should have a current NMC registration.
You will work in a highly supportive team and will be encouraged to access training opportunities to further develop your knowledge and skills.
Act as a Primary/Named Nurse within a multi-disciplinary team, developing collaborative, needs based care plans, through assessment, planning, implementation and evaluation.
Provide excellent professional, skilled and effective person-centred, evidence-based nursing care.
Active involvement in the health and wellbeing of staff and service users.
Must be visible and accessible to patients, families and carers working together to ensure efficient, effective and caring services.
Contribute to achieving all performance indicators, essential standards and quality outcomes.
Contribute to the education and development of the workforce and students.
Contribute to staff appraisals and support personal development plans.
Safely administer medication following Trust policies and practice guidelines.
Provide compassionate care that is based on empathy, kindness, respect and dignity.
