Speech and Language Therapist – Learning Disabilities & Autism

Location: Grimsby, Lincolnshire

Salary: Up to £40,000 + benefits

Role Overview

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced Speech and Language Therapist to join a specialist service supporting adults with Learning Disabilities and Autism in Grimsby. Service users present with a range of complex sensory and communication needs, including dysphagia, requiring skilled assessment and intervention. This role offers the chance to work in a highly supportive multidisciplinary environment with strong clinical leadership and development opportunities.

Key Responsibilities
  • Deliver high-quality Speech and Language Therapy assessments and interventions
  • Provide specialist dysphagia assessment and management as required
  • Manage a designated caseload, planning, implementing and evaluating care
  • Work collaboratively within the MDT, contributing to care planning and reviews
  • Provide clinical supervision to Speech & Language Therapy Assistants
  • Offer specialist SLT advice and consultation to colleagues and families
  • Support service development alongside senior clinicians
  • Promote safeguarding, professional standards and regulatory compliance
Person Specification

Essential:

  • Degree or equivalent qualification in Speech & Language Therapy
  • HCPC registration
  • RCSLT membership
  • Minimum 2 years' post-qualification experience
  • Experience working with Learning Disabilities, Autism and complex needs
  • Knowledge of dysphagia assessment and intervention
  • Experience supporting or supervising junior staff/students
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills
