Solicitor - Military (NQ to 4 years PQE)

Location: Hugh James, Catterick Garrison, England, United Kingdom

Responsibilities
  • Handle a mixed caseload of general personal injury work, incorporating clinical negligence and industrial disease, with a particular focus on carcinogenic claims arising from military service with the Ministry of Defence.
  • Conduct a wide range of general personal injury cases.
  • Maintain a good knowledge of CPR and the law relating to personal injury.
  • Provide advice to clients on sensitive matters.
  • Draft witness statements and pleadings.
  • Review medical reports and provide appropriate advice.
  • Instruct and communicate with Counsel.
  • Deal with highly complex conferences.
  • Work with other solicitors to develop and help maintain good client relationships and knowledge within clinical negligence.
  • Maintain a professional attitude.
  • Supervise other fee earners if required.
  • Attend legal clinics in various locations.
  • Signpost clients to relevant legal services.
  • Take initial enquiries from clients.
  • Update clients on their claim status.
Skills & Qualifications

Strong organisation and time management skills are a key element to this role as is the ability to work under pressure to meet tight deadlines. Excellent client care skills are also a must.
