Software Engineering Graduate Programme in Manchester

When you join our Software Engineering graduate programme at our Manchester office, you’ll spend an intensive 12 months working with several of our core departments. You’ll learn about the exciting world of travel tech from the ground up, and your colleagues, as well as a personal mentor, will help you find your feet. Along the way, you’ll get to share your ideas and skills to positively impact our users and travel partners as an active member of our mission.

What do you need to know?

The 12 months rotation programme is designed for students graduating in 2025 and 2026. It will start in September 2026, and applications will open in January 2026. This programme is a unique opportunity to launch your professional journey, develop your technical expertise, and contribute to our mission of making it easier for everyone to experience the world.

As part of the 12 months programme, you will
  • Receive guidance and support from a dedicated mentor, participate in an onboarding bootcamp, explore learning opportunities, and develop technical expertise through two rotations within the engineering business unit.
  • This programme will help you develop your skills and significantly impact our mission to make it easier for everyone to experience the world by building and improving products for travellers and accommodation partners.
  • As a Graduate Software Engineer at Booking.com, you will be a permanent team member working with experienced engineers to design and deliver services and products, offering customers the best selection of properties and rooms.
  • Collaborate with a team of engineers to develop and deliver high-quality software solutions, and coordinate the end-to-end delivery of your projects.
  • Learn new technologies, stay ahead of the curve, and contribute to the evolution of our engineering standard processes.
  • Write clear, concise, and comprehensive user documentation.

During the graduate programme you will gain experience in both frontend and backend development, broadening your horizons with support from your team.

Accommodations

During the graduate programme, I had the opportunity to work in Flights where I was exposed to both frontend and backend development, providing a solid foundation in software engineering with exceptional support from my team. In addition I worked with the Design Systems team where I contributed to the company's core UI framework, further expanding my frontend expertise and enhancing our shared component library.

Marketplace

During the grad programme, I contributed to our partner authorization system, allowing us to show the right information to the right partners at the right time. It was an amazing opportunity to collaborate with multiple teams, and I was happy to see the impact of my work!
