Mental Health Social Worker

Torfaen County Borough Council Up to £37 per hour

Torfaen County Borough Council is looking for a dedicated Mental Health Social Worker to join our supportive and progressive Adult Mental Health Social Work Team within Adult Services.

This is a full-time position for 37 hours per week where you will be an integral part of our multi‑disciplinary division. Adult Services works collaboratively with partner agencies to meet the social care needs of adults experiencing mental distress within Torfaen.

Key Requirements

• Registered Social Worker: You must be a fully registered Social Worker with the relevant professional body.
• Experience: You will have experience across a wide range of social care processes, including excellent assessment and risk management skills.
• Approved Mental Health Professional (AMHP): This qualification is highly desirable. If you do not currently hold the AMHP qualification, there is an explicit expectation from TCBC that the successful candidate will undertake the AMHP course.
• Essential Skills: We are looking for flexibility, enthusiasm, and a genuine dedication to working positively with individuals in both community and hospital settings. The ability to work effectively as part of a team is a key factor.
