Job Description

An exciting opportunity has arisen for an experienced and talented Qualified Social Worker to join the Adults Review Team in York. This is a full-time locum role offering both professional reward and personal fulfilment, where your skills and knowledge will help drive positive outcomes for adults in the community.

You will play a vital role in completing proactive, strength-based reassessments and reviews for both working-age adults and older people, helping to maintain and improve their independence and quality of life.

Key Responsibilities
  • Undertake strength-based reviews and reassessments to help individuals maintain independence and reduce the need for ongoing or increasing care and support
  • Carry out complex assessments, including those requiring application of the Care Act 2014 and the Mental Capacity Act 2005
  • Demonstrate excellent analytical skills, producing structured, evidence-based assessments and documentation to a high standard
  • Independently manage your workload with strong time management skills, ensuring adherence to deadlines and service priorities
  • Use your knowledge and experience in adult safeguarding to ensure the safety, dignity, and wellbeing of all service users
What We’re Looking For
  • Qualified Social Worker, registered with Social Work England
  • Proven post-qualifying experience in adult social care, ideally within a review or community-based team
  • Sound knowledge of relevant legislation including the Care Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding frameworks
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team in a hybrid working environment
  • A commitment to person-centred practice, professional ethics, and the values of social work
