Social Media Volunteer - Volunteer
We’re looking for a creative social media volunteer to grow our presence across platforms. Ideal candidates understand storytelling, design, and community—especially in neurodivergent and chronically ill spaces.

What are we looking for?
Skills & Competencies
- Confidence using Canva (essential), and ideally comfortable with basic video editing tools.
- Understanding X, Facebook, Instagram, YouTube, and LinkedIn, and how to create engaging platform‑specific content.
- Strategic person who creates themes for content and moulds content on same topic for all social media platforms to maximise gains and reduce time investment.
- Strong written communication and visual storytelling skills.
- Able to work independently and collaboratively with remote teams.
- Organised, proactive, and comfortable managing multiple small tasks.

- Creative thinker with an eye for detail and a desire to improve user experience.

Time Commitment
- Flexible, approximately 5–10 hours per week.
- Attend occasional online team or WhatsApp meetings.
Key Responsibilities
- Social Media Management
- Plan, schedule, and publish engaging content across key platforms (Instagram, Facebook, LinkedIn, YouTube).
- Create posts using tools such as Canva—incorporating branding, accessibility (alt text, captions), and inclusive language.
- Respond to comments, direct messages, and community mentions in a supportive and timely manner.
- Help maintain and update Linktree to ensure users can easily access our events, resources, and news.
- Monitor engagement, trends, and platform updates, suggesting improvements to boost reach and impact.
- Content Creation
- Design creative, user‑friendly graphics, videos, and reels to support campaigns, events, and awareness days.
- Collaborate with the team to develop new ideas for educational, inspirational, and advocacy‑focused content.
- Repackage existing content (blog posts, testimonials, articles) for social media audiences.
- Support video editing for YouTube or short‑form content, if possible.
- Strategy & Campaign Support
- Assist in planning and executing social media campaigns aligned with SEDSConnective’s calendar of events and advocacy work.
- Contribute to developing a consistent voice, tone, and visual identity across platforms.
- Work with the wider team to help promote fundraising initiatives, events, and training sessions.
