Skills and Employment Manager
We have an exciting opportunity for a Skills and Employment Manager to join the team on a full-time, permanent basis. In return, you will receive a competitive salary of £47,040–£49,690 per annum.
We are a high-achieving college that attracts around 2,800 sixth‑form students across the region each year. Our campus is situated within the stunning New Forest National Park and offers students a huge range of courses and superb facilities.
About The Role
As the Skills and Employment Manager, you will lead the day‑to‑day operational management of all programmes in the area, ensuring high levels of quality and student satisfaction, excellent outcomes, and strong progression.
Responsibilities
- Oversee the production of ambitious, inspiring, and stimulating teaching and learning materials across courses in the Skills and Employment area.
- Ensure that all subject‑related documentation such as schemes of work, assessment plans and assessments are high quality, fit for purpose and regularly updated.
- Lead and promote inspirational and innovative teaching, learning and assessment across the Skills and Employment area.
- Alongside the Director of HE, Adults and Apprenticeships, ensure that all internal college‑related quality processes and procedures, such as observations, the quality audit and PPRs, are effectively undertaken in line with college requirements.
- Ensure that student progress is tracked effectively across courses in the Skills and Employment area, including the RARPA process.
- Ensure that, where appropriate, student outcomes/marks/grades are uploaded externally accurately and in a timely manner.
- Support the Director of HE, Adults and Apprenticeships in developing and growing the Skills and Employment area provision.
- Meet strategic delivery targets set by the Director of Higher Education, Adult Learning and Apprenticeships.
Qualifications
- A degree level qualification.
- A teaching qualification relevant to post‑16 or adult education (or the willingness to undertake such a qualification).
- A commitment to represent and embed a culture of equity, diversity and inclusion across the college.
- A belief in the advantages, benefits and ethos of a college experience for post‑16 and adult learners.
- Experience and ability to successfully teach an aspect of provision in the adult area.
- Ability to analyse data to inform decision‑making and drive improvements in outcomes.
