We are currently seeking a Skilled General Builder to join our friendly and hardworking team in Luton. This is a varied, hands-on role for a talented all-rounder who can turn their hand to almost anything, from carpentry and plumbing to decorating, tiling, and basic electrics. No two days are the same!Role OverviewAs our Skilled General Builder, you’ll be responsible for carrying out day-to-day repairs, refurbishments, and property upgrades across our supported housing sites. You’ll need to be confident working independently, have a high level of maintenance experience, and take pride in delivering quality workmanship. You’ll also be part of a positive, community-focused team working to keep our properties safe, welcoming, and well-maintained for the individuals we support.Key Responsibilities
Carry out general building work including carpentry, plumbing, tiling, decorating, and basic electrics
Respond to maintenance requests in a timely, professional manner
Complete repairs and small-scale refurbishments to a high standard
Source and manage materials in line with provided materials card
Communicate clearly with the wider team about progress and any concerns
Ensure all work is carried out safely and in line with health and safety regulations
Represent Green Bridge Community Housing positively while on-site
Support occasional company events or team initiatives when required
What We’re Looking For
Proven experience in general building and maintenance work
Strong practical skills and a flexible, can-do attitude
A valid UK driving licence and access to a vehicle
Ability to work independently and manage time effectively
High standards of workmanship and attention to detail
Friendly and professional manner with residents and colleagues alike
