Sessional Support Workers
We are currently recruiting Sessional Support Workers for our temporary supported accommodation services for individuals who have become homeless. Our aim is to provide support to service users to move on to a more secure, settled and fulfilling life by providing practical advice and assistance.
In addition to providing a planned programme of support, staff have a caretaker role in the management and operation of the premises and to ensure the overall safety of the accommodation.
You must be able to demonstrate excellent verbal and written communication skills and be able to work in a small team. You will have experience of partnership and inter‑agency work and ideally have worked in social care, housing, mentoring, ideally within a residential setting.
Duties will include supporting individuals to access benefits, engage with other agencies, attend appointments, develop social support networks, general living skills and addressing reasons for homelessness.
A commitment to Sacro’s value base is crucial, as this type of work can be challenging.
The ability to use initiative and organise workload within a pressurised environment is essential.
Successful applicants will be flexible and imaginative in their approach and sensitive and confident in their ability to help service users.
Hours of work are as and when required.
Membership of the Protecting Vulnerable Groups (PVG) scheme is a requirement for this role, which Sacro will cover the cost of.
