Job summary

A leading engineering services provider in Renfrew is seeking a Senior RVI Equipment Technician to support the management and maintenance of Remote Operations equipment. Ideal candidates will have a minimum of 5 years technical experience and relevant qualifications. This role offers opportunities for international travel and flexible work hours, including occasional shifts and weekend work.

Qualifications

  • PAT testing qualification desirable.

Job description
Senior RVI Equipment Technician – Altrad UK, Ireland & Nordics

Join us in the Asset Management Team as a Senior RVI Equipment Technician to support the management, maintenance and future development of Remote Operations equipment.

Location: Renfrew facility with occasional site deployments and international travel.

Responsibilities
  • Support the management and maintenance of Remote Operations (RVI) equipment within Asset Management.
  • Perform PAT testing, camera/RVI inspections, and radiological protection duties.
  • Maintain and develop equipment; troubleshoot and resolve issues efficiently.
  • Prepare and audit technical documents, procedures and reports for clients, peers, and management.
  • Collaborate with stakeholders and maintain communications as required.
Qualifications & Requirements
  • Qualified to HNC or higher, or minimum 5 years experience as a technician or tradesperson in a technical or mechanical role.
  • Experience or qualification in Equipment Management or EC&I engineering; PAT testing qualification desirable.
  • Excellent IT skills, experience with asset management software, script/macro writing and advanced Excel.
  • Strong strategic, organisational and problem‑solving skills; ability to troubleshoot and delegate.
  • Exceptional attention to detail, procedural awareness and ability to prioritise workload.
  • Good written and verbal communication skills; ability to compile, review and audit technical documents.
  • Excellent health and safety record and commitment to QHSE standards.
  • Willingness to travel and flexible work hours, including occasional shift and weekend work; full UK driving licence beneficial.
  • Beneficial qualifications: RPS/HP training, Nuclear security clearance (CTC or SC), IOSH Managing Safely, membership in a professional institution.
  • Leadership skills and capability to coach and develop junior technicians.

Candidates will be evaluated and may be offered a role at Technician or Senior Technician level.
