Qualifications

  • 1 year of experience within Children’s Residential Childcare is required.
  • Committed to working towards Level 5 in Leadership and Management.
  • Understanding of trauma and neglect in children's backgrounds.

Responsibilities

  • Provide one-to-one therapeutic care for children aged 6-17.
  • Support children in their social and educational activities.
  • Complete necessary documentation accurately.

Job title: Senior Residential Support Worker - Therapeutic Children Home


Salary: £35,120 starting salary.


Shift Patterns: 48 hours shifts with occasional 24-hour depending on rota; rota confirmed 6 months in advance.


Sleep Ins: Yes / Essential; 8 to 10 per month


On-Call Duties: Yes


Working Hours: 165 per month


Driver Required: Yes / Essential


Qualifications Required: Level 3 or equivalent in Residential Childcare


Experience Required: Yes 1 Year within Children’s Residential Childcare

The day-to-day requirements:

What you will be doing…

You will be changing a child’s life by providing one-to-one therapeutic care for children aged 6-17 who are from a background of trauma and neglect in line with their care plans, acting as a role model at all times.


You must be driven to also ensure that the children and young people have an experience of childhood that they deserve, one filled with fun, laughter, friendship, and discovery.


You will be participating in the day-to-day operation & duties of the home and ensuring all of the documentation required is completed accurately.


The company will aid you in creating a positive environment in the home, so this enables the children to express their characters, feel safe and enrich their lives.


You will be supporting the children on social and educational activities that help them in developing their learning and educational aspirations, e.g., family contact, appointments, education, and leisure activities, including holidays abroad, trips in the UK and many more.


To achieve this high level of care, you will be working with a fantastic team and supportive manager to ensure the children in your care have all their needs and requirements met.
