Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Senior Quality Engineer to join our team working on the Net Zero Teesside Power project, a pioneering initiative aimed at delivering low‑carbon power solutions. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing, implementing, and maintaining quality assurance processes to ensure project deliverables meet the highest standards of safety, quality, and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Promote the awareness of quality management principles (including quality and Management System inductions) and provide advice and guidance to peers and colleagues.
  • Understand and identify emerging stakeholder requirements and establish plans to address these.
  • Ensure requirements of the Technip Energies quality policy, quality standard and agreed objectives are communicated and complied with across the Business unit/grouping.
  • Have experience on EPC Onshore / EPCm / Power Plant type contracts.
  • Implement quality management system requirements, ensuring compliance with client requirements and/or ISO 9001 requirements.
  • Be familiar with current Codes and Standards (PED/PSSR, ASME, ASTM, EEMUA, CE/UKCA Marking, ATEX etc).
  • Have experience regarding subcontractor interface/management, data gathering, investigation and decision making in relation to Code and Standard certification to demonstrate compliance needs.
  • Act as quality representative and interface with top management on all quality‑related matters specific to scope/contract.
  • Engage client quality representatives on a regular basis and act expediently on both positive and negative client feedback.
  • Oversee, govern and implement all applicable quality‑related tools and applications/software.
  • Develop, review and implement QA plans, procedures and standards aligned with project requirements and industry best practices.
  • Manage site and subcontract audit and surveillance programs, including scheduling, creating audit plans, developing Terms of Reference, conducting audits and surveillances to verify adherence to quality standards, codes and regulations.
  • Manage and identify non‑conformances and opportunities for improvement, advise on remediations, and continuously improve quality outcomes, including root‑cause investigation and reporting.
  • Ensure the development and control of all subcontractor KPIs, documentation, certification and QA/QC activities, including the review and approval process.
  • Act as contract focal point for all areas of certification to ensure fulfilment regarding minimum certification requirements.
  • Have experience with completions, handover and commissioning processes.
  • Have good working knowledge of cross‑functional integration and interdisciplinary awareness to identify right‑first‑time and continuous improvement areas and share good practice.
  • Lead, undertake or participate in investigations of quality‑related failures.
  • Facilitate ‘Right First Time’ and ‘Continuous Improvement’ actions, events and initiatives.
  • Set, track and report site quality goals and performance.
  • Collaborate with engineering, procurement, construction and commissioning teams to ensure quality requirements are integrated into all project phases.
  • Identify, report and track quality issues, facilitating timely resolution and the project ‘Right First Time’ philosophy.
  • Participate in risk assessments and failure‑mode analysis related to quality aspects.
  • Manage, prepare and present site quality inductions and ensure awareness of project requirements throughout the full project team.
  • Foster a culture of quality awareness, right‑first‑time and continuous improvement across the project team.
Qualifications And Experience
  • Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quality Management or a related field, or a minimum of 8 years of experience in quality assurance within the energy, oil & gas or petrochemical sectors.
  • Comprehensive understanding of current Codes and Standards (PED/PSSR, ASME, ASTM, EEMUA, CE/UKCA Marking, ATEX etc).
  • Proven experience working on large‑scale engineering and construction projects, preferably in power or low‑carbon energy projects.
  • Strong knowledge of quality management systems, standards and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience with QA tools and software (e.g., audit management, non‑conformance reporting).
  • Excellent analytical, problem‑solving and communication skills.
  • Ability to work effectively in a multidisciplinary team environment.
  • Certifications such as ASQ CQE, CQA.
  • Must hold ISO Lead Auditor certification with 5 years of experience.
  • Proficient in the analysis of processes and data.
  • Proficient in Microsoft Office.
  • High level of communication skills in both written and spoken formats.
  • Proficient in the use of continual improvement tools and techniques.
