A leading infrastructure company in Birmingham is seeking a Senior Quality Engineer to ensure compliance and quality management throughout major civil engineering projects. The ideal candidate will have a degree in Quality Management or Civil Engineering, along with expertise in industry standards and a proactive approach to problem-solving. Responsibilities include managing quality assurance processes, leading inspections, and collaborating with diverse teams to deliver critical transport infrastructure. HS2, Britain’s new high-speed railway is at peak construction. Balfour Beatty VINCI is HS2’s construction partner in the Midlands, responsible for delivering 90km of the route, from Long Itchington in Warwickshire to the centre of Birmingham and on to Handsacre in Staffordshire.

The North Region comprises Sublots 7 and 8 from Curdworth to Handsacre and runs for approximately 30km. It stretches through a mainly rural landscape between Lichfield, Tamworth and down towards Coleshill.
Degree-qualified in Quality Management or Civil Engineering, preferably ISO 9001 Lead/Internal Auditor trained, CQI member (or working towards), CSCS card holder, with a full UK driving licence.
Proven Quality Management subject matter expert with experience on major civil engineering projects, working to UK and international standards, industry codes of practice, and applying Lean and Six Sigma principles.
Strong ability to gather, analyse, and evaluate data to make evidence-based decisions, with excellent attention to detail and a track record of delivering work through to completion.
Confident working with senior management, able to challenge existing practices constructively, produce clear and persuasive reports, and build strong relationships across multidisciplinary teams.
Self-motivated, resilient, and proactive, able to manage time effectively, add value to the function, command respect across the business, and confidently use modern office systems (Microsoft Teams, Excel, Word, PowerPoint).
