A global technology organisation is seeking a Senior Product Test Development Engineer to lead the design and validation of test equipment within a dynamic R&D environment in Edinburgh. This role emphasizes accountability for hardware and test software integration, mentoring junior engineers, and managing production challenges. The position offers a competitive salary range of approximately £65,000 to £70,000 along with benefits that include a sign-on bonus, flexible working hours, and comprehensive health schemes.
Our client is a global technology organisation operating at the forefront of defence, aerospace and advanced electronic systems. They develop and manufacture highly complex mission‑critical products across land, sea, air, space and cyber domains. Due to sustained growth and increased R and D demand, they are now seeking multiple Senior Product Test Development Engineers to join their permanent engineering team.
You will take ownership of the design, verification, validation and lifecycle support of test equipment at board, sub‑system and system level. This is a hands‑on senior role within a heavily R and D focused environment, supporting the development of complex electronic products. The position is hardware leaning but will also involve test software development. You will work closely with multi‑disciplinary engineering teams, lead technical reviews, resolve production issues, manage obsolescence and provide mentorship within a junior‑heavy team.
