Overview

Are you a highly skilled Mechanical Engineer with a passion for creating sustainable solutions?

Join Stantec and help us tackle the urgent climate, environmental, and efficiency challenges facing our communities. We are seeking a Senior Principal Mechanical Engineer in the South West and Midlands, with role locations including Bristol, Cardiff, Exeter, Birmingham, Derby or Redditch. You will be involved in the full project life cycle, from feasibility and optioneering through to detailed design and construction support, including site surveys and investigations. This role involves leading mechanical design for infrastructure and non-infrastructure projects, including water/wastewater treatment plants, conveyance systems, pumping stations and more.

You will work closely with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, supply chain partners, contractors, planners and other stakeholders to deliver positive project outcomes. You will also be responsible for mentoring and managing other engineers within the team. You can learn more about our work in the water sector at Stantec Water.

  • Manage full project lifecycle from feasibility to construction support, including site surveys and investigations.
  • Collaborate with project managers, technical leaders, design engineers, clients, supply chain partners, contractors and planners to achieve project outcomes.
  • Mentor and manage other engineers within the team.
Qualifications
  • Degree qualification in Mechanical Engineering or a related subject; ideally Chartered or working toward.
  • Previous experience in detailed design within the water industry; experience with delivery contractors is beneficial.
  • Experience developing and leading engineers and taking on full line management responsibilities.
