Job description
Overview

Senior/Principal Geo-Environmental Consultant (Bristol). The role is within Tetra Tech Europe and sits in the Geo-Environmental & Mining (GEM) Business Unit, which comprises Land Quality, Ground Investigation, Groundwater & Geothermal and Mining disciplines delivering projects across sectors including Energy, Defence, Property & Government Services. The successful candidate will join a 100-strong team delivering technical excellence, client care and effective project management, collaborating with geo-environmental teams in other offices and with planning, environment and engineering specialists.

We undertake a diverse range of geo-environmental consultancy projects backed up by in-house ground investigation services, with focus on contaminated land, site investigation and brownfield redevelopment across market sectors including property & regeneration, defence estates, energy and transport.

Responsibilities
  • Project management and coordination of multi-discipline project teams
  • Client management and business development
  • Assist with design, procurement, supervision and management of geotechnical and geo-environmental ground investigations
  • Undertake desk studies and assess information
  • Accurate collection, analysis and interpretation of site data
  • Produce detailed technical reports
  • Undertake ground gas & groundwater monitoring works and assessments
Qualifications
  • A degree in geology, engineering geology, environmental science or a related subject
  • Several years post-graduate experience
  • Project management experience, including coordination of large project teams, resource control, quality, budget and programme management while delivering works safely and to a high technical standard
  • Good understanding of health, safety and environmental management
  • Knowledge of current contaminated land technical guidance, Part 2A legislation and development planning regime
  • Strong communication skills and demonstrable client relationship development; appetite to support growth of the land quality business
  • Knowledge of investigation, assessment and remediation of contaminated land and ability to produce Phase 1 desk studies and Phase 2 interpretative reports including risk assessments
  • Commitment to professional qualification
  • Excellent teamwork and ability to work independently; full driving licence
