Location: Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI) at HCA sites

Contract Type: Permanent

Hours: Full time 37.5 hours per week, Monday - Friday 9-5pm

We’re looking for a Senior Pharmacy Technician to join our Pharmacy Team at the Sarah Cannon Research Institute, currently rated “Good” by the CQC. Sarah Cannon Research Institute (SCRI) is a world-leading clinical trial facility specialising in the development of new therapies and precision medication for cancer patients. We believe that participation in a clinical trial is the first step in fighting cancer, not the last.

As the research arm of HCA’s global cancer institute, we are the first UK trials unit outside of the NHS that has the ability to offer new anti-cancer drugs in clinical trials. This is an exciting opportunity for a highly motivated individual with great interpersonal skills to join and contribute to the development and growth of the pharmacy department at SCRIUK in the role of Clinical Trials Technician. The post holder will be responsible for the provision of a pharmacy clinical trials service. They will assist in the set-up and coordination of pharmacy services at SCRIUK.

The Role

The department is purely for outpatients who are visiting to take part in cancer related clinical trials. Working within this small team you will have the support of the Pharmacists and Technicians to deliver a high quality level of service.

What you’ll bring
  • Registration with GPhC
  • Accurately review all information related to dispensed medications including Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs), ensuring that any errors are detected and corrected before medications are released from pharmacy.
  • Collaborate effectively with other members of the dispensing team to ensure the dispensary operates efficiently and safely.
  • Collaborate with the Lead Technician and Supply Chain team to manage the ordering, receiving, and stock management of Investigational Medicinal Products (IMPs) required for clinical trials.
  • Ensure that all medications are supplied in a timely manner, meeting the specific requirements of each clinical trial.
