SENIOR MANAGEMENT ACCOUNTANT - FULL TIME - WASHINGTON, TYNE & WEAR

Responsibilities
  • Prepare monthly management accounts across areas of responsibility with accountability for monthly balance sheet reconciliations.
  • Work alongside Finance Business Partners to deliver insightful variance analysis and commentary against budget, forecast, and prior year. Ensure timely, accurate reporting is distributed to relevant budget holders.
  • Support the month-end close process, ensuring accuracy and timeliness.
  • Support the preparation of annual budgets and rolling forecasts in collaboration with department heads and FP&A team.
  • Support the FP&A team by providing financial insight for commercial decisions. Ensure accuracy of data provided.
  • Drive continuous improvement in financial processes, reporting tools, and systems.
  • Support ERP and BI system enhancements and ensure data integrity across platforms.
  • Automate processes and streamline workflows to improve efficiency.
  • Ensure strong internal controls.
  • Work alongside Group Reporting Manager to ensure accounting standards are followed appropriately.
  • Support audit processes and liaise with external auditors as required.
  • Assist with tax and statutory reporting where applicable.
  • Lead and mentor direct reports. Set clear objectives and regularly discuss performance.

Qualifications
  • Fully qualified accountant (ACA or ACCA) - 3 years plus PQE.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in management accounting, ideally within retail, fashion, or FMCG.
  • Solid understanding of relevant accounting standards (Group reports under FRS 102) and multi-currency consolidations.
  • Advanced Excel skills; experience with BI tools (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Strong understanding of multi-channel business models and inventory accounting.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.
