Senior HR Business Partner – Barnes Aerospace

Barnes Aerospace is seeking an experienced HR Leader to join its dynamic, growing global company as the Senior HR Business Partner for our Newton Abbot business.

The role is part of the senior leadership team and focuses on leading the full complement of Human Resource activities for approximately 400 employees within a manufacturing environment.

Core Responsibilities
  • Partner with the General Manager and Senior Leadership Team to drive contemporary HR practices and operating rhythms to meet business objectives.
  • Develop and implement a people strategy that promotes a performance management culture and ensures the Newton Abbot site has a capable, engaged and motivated workforce aligned to business goals.
  • Lead the local HR and Occupational Health team of 4 HR Advisors, 1 Occupational Health Technician and 1 Occupational Health Nurse.
  • Provide expert guidance on all HR, Employment Law and Talent Development matters and act as a confidential coach to senior leaders and managers.
  • Use data and people analytics to identify trends, risks and opportunities and implement action plans.
  • Support workforce planning, recruitment, organisational design, restructuring and change initiatives to enable business success and growth.
  • Own the organisational design and people plan, focusing on talent development, succession planning, goal setting and the annual performance review process.
  • Support reward and recognition programmes, salary and bonus review cycles, and provide guidance on job evaluations, internal equity and market competitiveness.
  • Ensure HR policies, procedures and practices are consistently applied, updated and aligned with business and legislative requirements.
  • Collaborate with the global HR team to share best practice processes and drive the promotion of diversity and inclusion.
  • Develop innovative solutions for complex HR and organisational issues and implement them appropriately.
  • Manage the site Apprenticeship Programme and maintain positive employee relations with recognised trade unions to avoid industrial disputes.
  • Lead a proactive HSE culture, ensuring Occupational Health services support operational requirements and manage the Health Surveillance Programme.
