Berrycove Limited is seekingSenior Horticulturalistswith experience working in an advanced commercial hydroponic greenhouse to join its rapidly expanding greenhouse operations, with significant advancement opportunities, located in Tobago. This is a unique opportunity for CARICOM nationals to return home and be part of the regional initiative toward building food security through advanced AgTech.

As a Senior Horticulturalist, you would be given direct oversight of local Farm Managers and conduct training for operational staff. You would be required to assist in the identification and procurement of equipment and growing supplies on an ongoing basis, support the recruiting program for our farm operations, and contribute to the development of SOPs and quality control standards.

Key Duties & Responsibilities:

• Assist in the design and customization of various hydroponic production plans and systems to support the specialized engineering and manufacturing team.
• Research and record cultivation information and use data to modify the growing environment to stimulate plant health. Ensure accurate and detailed record-keeping and plant labeling.
• Maintain oversight of several facilities simultaneously with local Farm Managers.
• Provide training, evaluate staff performance, and develop operational SOPs.

Key Requirements

• 8+ years’ experience working in a senior role in a commercial greenhouse/hydroponic facility as Senior Horticulturalist or Master Grower.
• Specialize in the production of leafy greens, tomatoes, peppers, and berry fruits.
• Experience in greenhouse operations in excess of 40,000 sf.
• Highly experienced in a range of advanced hydroponic production systems.
• Familiar with environmental control systems related to all CEA.
• Priority would be given to applicants with a Trinidad & Tobago passport or CARICOM Certificate who are willing to relocate to Tobago and travel throughout the Caribbean region to manage several operations simultaneously.

Qualifications

• BSc degree in Plant Science, Botany, or Micro-propagation.
• Certified Horticulture Technicians are considered an asset.
