Your Purpose — As Senior Electrical Engineer within one of our four business units, you’ll provide engineering technical direction to the discipline engineers, support schemes with design input, and ensure designs are fit for purpose and meet current legislation and standards. You’ll review electrical design deliverables produced by other electrical engineers in the @one Alliance and supply chain, ensuring processes and procedures are followed. You’ll coach and mentor junior team members.

What you’ll be doing

• Regularly report to the Principal Engineer.
• Collaborate with Principal Engineer, Portfolio Design Managers and Project Design Managers to align with upcoming project milestones and design review dates.
• Check specifications, schedules, datasheets, drawings and 3D models to ensure quality, safety and technical standards are met.
• Coach and mentor junior and less experienced members of the electrical team.
• Review construction site and supply chain design queries and change requests to ensure timely and accurate responses while maintaining design integrity.
• Input into Construction Design Management (CDM) and commissioning strategy meetings.
• Update and collaborate with the Principal Engineer and Design Managers on potential improvements.
• Liaise with other departments and project teams regarding design requirements.
• Manage quality through the design workflow in line with the project timeline.
• Support other leads and discipline engineers to deliver engineering outputs to time and quality standards.
• Drive sustainability and low carbon designs.
• Promote offsite build, modular construction and repeatable solutions.

About you

• Engineering, or equivalent degree, or demonstrate degree-level knowledge through experience; ideally Chartered, or working towards Chartered status.
• Experience of water-sector assets and capital projects is essential.
• Strong knowledge of relevant regulations, standards and codes of practice.
• Experience in leadership, mentoring and coaching of junior engineers.
• Strong stakeholder engagement skills.
