Job summary

A healthcare organization in Hamilton is seeking a passionate Diabetes Specialist Dietitian to provide medical nutrition counselling to individuals with diabetes. The successful candidate will work as part of a multi-disciplinary team focusing on diabetes prevention and improving client self-management. Applicants must be a Registered Dietitian and have significant experience in diabetes education and counselling. This role requires occasional evening and weekend work, and a CV should be submitted to exec@diabetes.bm by January 2, 2026.

Qualifications

  • A minimum of five years post-qualification experience with diabetes clients.
  • Three years of experience on a multi-disciplinary team delivering diabetes education.
  • Proven ability to develop and deliver programs for diabetes self-management.

Responsibilities

  • Provide medical nutrition counselling to diabetes patients.
  • Work part of a multi-disciplinary team on diabetes prevention programs.
  • Deliver diabetes education and training to individuals and groups.

Skills

Experience with Type 1 diabetes (pediatric)
Experience with Type 1 diabetes (adult)
Experience with Type 2 diabetes
Experience with gestational diabetes
Excellent written communication skills
Excellent oral communication skills
Strong time management skills
Ability to work independently
Experience with diabetes technology (CGMs, insulin pumps)
Experience creating health promotion materials

Education

Registered Dietitian (RD)
Certified Diabetes Educator (CDE)
Master’s degree in diabetes
