Role Description

The Sector Leader will oversee the UK&I Sector Lender, Investors and Insurers business, ensuring effective management of the sector P&L and successful delivery of the strategic plan. Develop and implement a comprehensive strategy to achieve sustainable, profitable growth, increase market share, and deliver exceptional service within the LII Sector. Lead client development and sales efforts across the sector, collaborating with other units to leverage the full capabilities of the organization. Act as a prominent thought leader and maintain a strong presence in the market.

Role Accountabilities
  • Lead the development and execution of the UK&I Sector strategy, in line with the Places strategy, through multi‑year plans to accelerate growth, increase net revenue and grow market share within the sector.
  • Coordinate the allocation of Sector growth objectives by identifying and selecting new clients, targeting existing clients, to deliver growth in revenue, bookings and margin and meet or exceed planned targets.
  • Personally lead profitable growth with selected priority accounts within the sector.
  • Collaborate with other sectors to support their growth through insights, follow‑on work with developers and owner‑occupiers of real estate.
  • Manage the LII sector pipeline, ensuring client development investment is well‑targeted; keep pipeline data comprehensive and accurate to inform business planning.
  • Develop a client‑centric, innovative and people‑focused culture to ensure ongoing client satisfaction and engagement of staff.
  • Lead, motivate and develop a diverse team of business leaders by setting objectives and reviewing performance to ensure the team is engaged in the Sector strategy and business plan.
  • Maintain an overview of the bid process, take an active role in bid/no‑bid decisions where appropriate and oversee all client proposals to ensure oversight of the Sector pipeline.
  • Proactively manage risks and opportunities with full P&L accountability for the Sector, minimizing risk and maximizing value.
  • Manage Sector resources, focusing on recruitment, retention and robust succession plans for key positions to maximize opportunity, delivery and profitability.
  • Identify new client, product, service and proposition opportunities within the Sector and bring these to market.
  • Translate the global Sector value propositions into commercially viable regional Sector value propositions that differentiate Arcadis and generate demand within the region.
  • Develop relationships throughout Arcadis UK&I and globally to foster cooperation and diversify opportunities with selected clients.
  • Champion client care and key client management to ensure total client satisfaction and strengthen the Arcadis brand in the market.
  • Define and execute the Sector strategy for hundreds of large clients of high complexity and deliver revenue of approximately £20 million net for Arcadis UK and €15 million across Europe.
  • Work closely with the LII sector Business Director to align resource availability with the growth strategy and support market priorities within the business unit.
  • Ensure the Market to Opportunity and Pursuit to Win processes and governance are effectively applied.
  • Maintain board‑level relationships with clients that contribute approximately £20 million net revenue for Arcadis UK and €15 million across Europe.
  • Personally deliver gross revenue growth of £7.5 million per year.
  • Lead a multi‑disciplined workforce of approximately 130 Arcadis employees to deliver winning pursuits and service excellence within the Sector.
Qualifications & Experience
  • In‑depth knowledge and understanding of the Lender & Investor / Real Estate market to identify key trends and emerging opportunities with existing clients and across the sector.
  • Experience of Technical Due Diligence, Fund / Investment Monitoring, ESG and general Building Surveying Services.
  • Track record of successful Account Director leadership and sales, including in the UK Real Estate market.
