A little bit about the role...

We are recruiting for Section Leader to join our early shift (6am - 3pm). Your role will involve working on the production line and managing a team of multi-skilled operatives and KPIs in your designated section to support the wider manufacturing delivery program.

We manufacture and assemble a range of products, from vanity units to steel frame building panels, supplied to the construction industry. Your workstation duties will include window installation, component assembly, and finishing.

The successful candidate will be responsible for, but not limited to, the following:

1. Production & Efficiency
   • On-Time Delivery: Drive the team to consistently achieve cycle-time adherence, ensuring all products meet time-critical deadlines.
   • Equipment & Tooling: Manage maintenance, certification, and repair of section instruments and tools to ensure maximum availability.
   • Problem-Solving: Support in alleviating bottlenecks and production issues, providing staff with guidance for efficient resolution.
2. People & Team Leadership
   • Team Engagement & Development: Foster a positive environment, conduct performance reviews, and create development plans.
   • Skill & Competency Management: Develop a multi-skilled team through skill gap analysis and cross-training plans.
   • Effective Communication: Communicate targets, feedback, and updates clearly via daily briefings.
3. Seamless Operations Act as the central communication point, liaising with other departments to ensure smooth shift operations.
4. Quality Assurance & Control
   • Achieve and maintain a 95% Right-First-Time rate, reducing defects and rework.
   • Ensure all products pass quality checks before dispatch.
5. Safe System of Work
   • Ensure team adherence to Risk Assessments and Standard Work Instructions.
   • Report incidents accurately, support investigations, and implement corrective actions.
   • Promote a safety-first culture with regular safety walks and employee-led improvements.
   • Maintain cleanliness and organisation, applying 5S principles.
6. Perform any other tasks as required by the company.
