A local primary school in North East England is seeking a highly motivated School Business Manager to join their Senior Leadership Team. The successful candidate will provide strategic vision and leadership for all non-teaching functions of the school, including Finance, HR, Health and Safety, and more. Ideally, candidates should possess a Business Manager qualification and have a strong background in financial management within a school environment. The role is permanent, 37 hours per week during term time plus two additional weeks, with a salary range of £35,412 to £39,152 pro rata.

The governors of Red Rose Primary School are seeking to appoint a highly ambitious, skillful and self‑motivated candidate to support our Senior Leadership Team as School Business Manager. This is an exciting opportunity to be part of a team aiming for excellence in all areas of school life.
You will provide strategic vision, leadership and advice in the provision of all non‑teaching aspects of the school. You will be responsible for all aspects of Finance, Human Resources, Health and Safety, Premises, IT and Administration, and for ensuring that all arrangements are focused on supporting the strategic vision of the school and excellence in the provision of teaching and learning.
You will ideally have a Business Manager qualification and experience of working within a school setting. You should have a proven track record in excellent financial control and management and in developing strategic financial plans. You must be able to provide sound financial advice to the Headteacher. Term time only plus two additional weeks’ pay is calculated on the basis of the following:
Employees with less than 5 years’ service will receive 26 days annual leave; employees with more than 5 years’ service will receive 31 days annual leave.
For example:
Calculation for employees with less than 5 years’ service: 40 weeks (term time plus 2) + 26 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 46.8 weeks’ pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments.
Calculation for employees with more than 5 years’ service: 40 weeks (term time plus 2) + 31 days (annual leave) + 8 days (public holidays) = 47.8 weeks’ pay, to be paid in 12 equal monthly instalments.
