About the role

As our Safety & Business Risk (SBR) Coordinator, you’ll play a pivotal role in supporting MainPower’s Integrated Management System. You’ll provide essential coordination and administrative support, manage document control, and support initiatives that help keep our people and community safe. This is a varied role where you’ll work closely with the SBR team, managers, and staff across the business, ensuring our systems, records, and processes run smoothly and efficiently. This position is based on-site in beautiful Rangiora, a short drive against the flow of traffic from central Christchurch

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide coordination and admin support for SBR management system software and work programmes
  • Administer MainPower’s document management system within SharePoint
  • Meeting management including minutes secretary duties for the Health & Safety Committee
  • General administrative support including updating intranet content, processing purchase orders, preparing reports, and system administration
  • Support staff with general health & safety system and process queries
  • Executive Assistant duties for the Chief Assets & Operations Officer
About you

You’re an experienced coordinator or administrator, ideally with exposure to Health & Safety or risk management environments. You have a keen eye for detail, are comfortable managing documents and systems, and thrive in a role where you can support others and keep things running smoothly. You’re proactive, organised, and able to juggle multiple priorities with professionalism and a positive attitude.

Additionally, you will bring
  • Proven experience providing coordination and administration support to a busy team, ideally including familiarity with document control
  • Capability with executive support duties, e.g. minute-taking, calendar/email management
  • An absolute commitment to workplace and public safety
  • Proficient Microsoft Office skills and comfortable with Health & Safety software
  • Excellent communication and relationship-building skills
  • Ability to work autonomously, prioritise, and meet deadlines
  • A general understanding of risk management and a desire to develop into a Safety Advisor role is highly regarded
