Job description

Reward Manager at Frontier Economics

Frontier Economics is an economics consultancy that tackles the big questions facing governments, businesses and society. We help our clients to analyse and understand their markets and to formulate strategies based on sound economics. Our advice is always succinct, clear and honest. The People Team plays a pivotal role in making Frontier an exceptional place to work. We bring together talented individuals who use economic insight to solve complex challenges, and the People Team ensures they have the environment, support, and opportunities to thrive.

The Role

We’re looking for a Reward Manager to build on Frontier’s reward framework across Europe – covering pay, bonus, and benefits. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to a key area of our People strategy and ensure our reward approach reflects our culture, values, and business ambitions.

In this role, you’ll combine strategic thinking with hands‑on delivery. You’ll lead the development of our annual reward cycles, provide clear insight and recommendations to senior leadership, and design fair, transparent, and competitive reward structures that recognise performance and support growth. You’ll work closely with colleagues across the People Team, Finance, and senior stakeholders to guide pay and progression decisions, ensuring consistency and equity across all our offices.

This position is initially an 18‑month fixed‑term contract. It’s a fantastic opportunity to make a meaningful impact on how we recognise and reward our people across Europe.

Key Responsibilities
  • Review and evolve Frontier’s pay, bonus, and benefits frameworks to ensure they remain fair, competitive, and aligned with our culture and values.
  • Develop our annual pay and bonus processes, partnering with HR Business Partners and Finance on planning, modelling, and analysis.
  • Support the development of clear, consistent pay and progression approaches across grades and geographies.
  • Oversee benchmarking activities, analysing market data and recommending adjustments to salary ranges or bonus structures.
  • Provide reward insights to inform business planning, forecasting, and talent decisions.
Policy, Governance and Compliance
  • Review and update reward‑related policies and guidance to ensure they are accurate, accessible, and legally compliant across jurisdictions.
  • Lead activities relating to pay transparency, equal pay, and gender pay reporting – producing clear analysis and recommendations.
  • Manage relationships with external suppliers such as benchmarking providers and benefits brokers.
  • Prepare high‑quality reward papers and data for senior leadership including our Executive Committee.
Benefits and Wellbeing
  • Oversee the benefits offering across all European offices, ensuring consistency, value and alignment with employee needs.
  • Review benefits usage and feedback, recommending improvements that enhance employee experience.
  • Liaise with brokers and Finance on renewals, cost tracking, and communication of benefits.
  • Partner with HR Business Partners to ensure benefits and wellbeing initiatives align with Frontier’s broader People priorities.
Data, Insight and Reporting
  • Produce analysis and dashboards to monitor reward outcomes, including pay progression, bonus distribution, and internal equity.
  • Use data to identify trends, risks, and areas for improvement.
  • Present insights clearly and concisely to senior stakeholders to inform decision‑making.
  • Work closely with Finance and HR Business Partners to maintain accurate and reliable reward data across systems and reports.
About You
  • Experience managing reward and benefits processes across multiple European jurisdictions.
  • Working knowledge of equal pay, gender pay and pay transparency requirements.
  • Strong analytical and numerical skills, with confidence in Excel and data modelling.
  • Solid understanding of pay benchmarking and salary review processes.
  • Excellent communication skills, with the ability to explain complex information clearly and simply.
  • Strong organisation skills and attention to detail.
  • Collaborative, approachable and able to build trust with colleagues at all levels of the business.
  • Fluent English (C2).
Desirable
  • Experience within professional services or a complex, people‑focused organisation.
  • Familiarity with Workday (HRIS).
  • Additional European language (C1/2 in French, German, or Spanish).
Benefits
  • Hybrid working: Employees are expected to work in the office at least two days a week, with flexibility for remote work.
  • Holiday entitlement: 28 days of annual leave, plus public holidays, with the option to purchase up to 10 additional days per year.
  • Parental pay: Enhanced parental pay of up to 2 months of full pay and bonus for primary carers.
  • Learning & development: Extensive L&D opportunities, including career development reviews with support from a dedicated mentor.
  • Private health insurance: Frontier staff may take out their own private health insurance policy and Frontier will reimburse them for the premium up to €1,000 per annum.
  • Employee Assistance Programme (EAP) – free, confidential support for work‑life balance, health, family issues, or job‑related challenges, available for you and your immediate family members.
  • Income protection insurance – all employees are covered by Frontier’s group income protection scheme for long‑term illness or disability.
  • Life insurance – company‑funded group life assurance scheme, covering all permanent employees from their start date.
  • Cross‑office travel & secondments – opportunities for secondments to different offices or practices to expand skills and experience.
