We are looking for a Research Fellow (Applied Health and Care Research) to join our team to contribute to the School of Healthcare’s ambitious research portfolio, addressing questions that matter for health and social care. The School is a lead partner in major initiatives, including the NIHR School for Social Care Research (Phase IV), NICHE-Leeds (a science-care partnership), the NIHR Social Care Workforce Research Partnership, an NIHR HealthTech Research Centre (‘Accelerated Healing and Rehabilitation’ theme), the NIHR Applied Research Collaboration Yorkshire & Humbers (‘Health and Care in Our Ageing Society’ theme) and a NIHR National Evaluation Team (ROSE-NET).

The post holder will be involved in a range of projects across the School’s research portfolio. Initially, they will actively contribute to the NIHR National Evaluation Team (ROSE-NET). ROSE-NET works in close partnership with policy makers, service leaders, patient and public representatives to co-produce evaluations addressing real-world challenges. These policy-led evaluations span diverse health and social care areas, aiming to deliver rapid, rigorous, and relevant evidence to inform decisions about large-scale innovations in services across England.

We don't just “do research”; we build capacity, develop skills and mobilise knowledge - working with people accessing health and social care, their families, practitioners, providers, commissioners, policy makers to make a difference in practice and policy. The post holder will need to be flexible and collaborative in their approach. This is an excellent opportunity to work with experts in applied health and care research.

The post holder will work closely with Professor Karen Spilsbury (Healthcare) and Professor Andy Clegg (Leeds Institute of Health Sciences), along with colleagues from the University of Manchester and Manchester University NHS Foundation Trust.
