Job summary

A leading educational institution in Birmingham is looking for a Research Development Officer to provide expert support to researchers in preparing and submitting funding applications. This role requires a Degree level education along with significant experience in research support and risk assessment. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication and analytical skills. The position is full-time with a starting salary ranging between £36,636 to £46,049, along with numerous benefits aimed at promoting work/life balance and professional development.

Qualifications

  • Educated to Degree level (or equivalent qualifications) plus significant relevant practical experience.
  • Experience of successfully leading/coordinating the development of research grants and/or research agreements.
  • Knowledge of the UK research funding ecosystem and key research funders.

Responsibilities

  • Act as the primary point of contact for researchers, providing expert guidance.
  • Review and draft clauses to support negotiation of funding agreements.
  • Cost research proposals ensuring compliance with financial regulations.
