A fast-growing travel media brand in the UK is looking for two news journalists: a full-time Reporter and a Senior Reporter. The role involves sourcing and writing news stories, attending travel industry events, and publishing content online. Candidates should have news reporting experience, excellent writing skills, and an interest in the travel sector but not necessarily experience. This is primarily a remote role with occasional in-person events primarily in London. Competitive benefits include private health insurance and 25 days of annual leave.
Travel Gossip, the UK’s fastest-growing travel trade media brand, is looking for two news journalists – a full-time Reporter and a full-time Senior Reporter – to join its team.
Travel Gossip’s news service launched in 2021 and quickly made an impact in the industry with its travel news site and daily news email service.
The overall company has grown significantly, including sales & partnerships, marketing and training divisions, and our editorial division is also growing, with exciting expansion plans.
Working with the editors, the Reporter and Senior Reporter will source and write topical news stories for the Travel Gossip website and daily email.
Knowledge of the travel industry is not essential, but candidates need to have a solid background in news reporting and be able to identify a trade story.
Attending regular travel industry events in the UK and overseas is a key requirement.
The job is mostly a work-from-home role, so you must be happy and motivated to work remotely, keeping in touch with the team regularly throughout the day.
As many travel industry events take place in London, we are looking for someone based in, or close to, London (within the M25).
We expect the successful Senior Reporter candidate to be able and willing to step in to news edit on occasions.
To apply, please send a CV plus a covering letter, including links to three of your best news stories to editor@travelgossip.co.uk. Tell us why you’ve selected them and explain how you got them. We’re not expecting them to be travel-related, but we want to see examples of your news writing and proof that you have an eye for a story.
In the email subject line and at the top of your covering letter, please clearly mark which role you are applying for.
Only applicants who fit the criteria in the job spec will be considered. We are unable to respond to those that don’t.
