Job summary

A leading UK security firm is seeking a Security Officer to ensure the safety and security of prestigious client sites. Responsibilities include managing access control, patrolling, responding to queries, and maintaining reports. The ideal candidate will have excellent communication skills, customer service experience, and relevant SIA qualifications. This is an ad hoc position with flexible shifts ranging from 8 to 12 hours. Full training and benefits, including a pension and health insurance, are provided.

Qualifications

  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
  • Strong customer service, team working and collaboration skills.
  • Ability to remain calm and professional under pressure.
  • Ability to deliver succinct and clear verbal and written reports.
  • Competent IT and administration skills including MS Outlook, Word & Excel.
  • Professional appearance and demeanor.
  • Willingness to undertake development training.
  • Pass a criminal records check (CRC) to the required standards.

Responsibilities

  • Manage access control for buildings and car-parks for employees, visitors and contractors.
  • Patrol the buildings, car parks and grounds to deter and detect problems.
  • Respond to customer requests and queries.
  • Check and challenge ID passes professionally and friendly.
  • De-activate and activate alarms.
  • Unlock and lock buildings and external gates.
  • Identify and report Health & Safety issues.
  • Maintain records including incident reports.
