Registered Veterinary Nurse Practice Manager

This role will be based at our Guide Dogs National Centre near Leamington. You’ll be working 35 hours per week between the hours of 8am and 6pm, Monday to Friday, with a willingness to work outside of core hours when required.

As Practice Manager and Registered Veterinary Nurse, you will play a pivotal role in delivering exceptional clinical care to our breeding dogs, puppies, training dogs, and working guide dogs. You will manage a dedicated team at the National Centre Veterinary Clinic and support other Guide Dogs in‑house veterinary services.

Working closely with our Veterinary Surgeons and Head Nurse, you will oversee the provision of first‑opinion veterinary and pharmacy services, ensuring the highest standards of care. In addition, you will contribute to the success of our breeding programme, helping us achieve our mission of providing the best possible welfare for every dog in our care.

Key Responsibilities

• Manage and support the Senior Veterinary Nurse and Reproduction Manager
• Ensure practice compliance with RCVS and VDS standards, promoting best practice
• Lead the implementation of structured training pathways for colleagues and new recruits
• Align operational practices between the National Centre and Reading Veterinary sites to drive consistency and identify cost‑saving opportunities
• Assist with clinical veterinary nurse duties to include examinations, diagnostics and treatment of Guide Dogs’ dogs
• Support surgical services and breeding dog procedures.
• Foster collaborative relationships with Guide Dog Owners and volunteers.

What We’re Looking For

• Registered Veterinary Nurse with proven clinical and practice managerial experience.
• Knowledge of small animal clinical practice, including in‑patient care, lab, and pharmacy operations.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office and veterinary practice management systems.
• A valid UK/EU driving licence (or ability to complete the role without one).
