Job summary

A veterinary referral hospital in the East Midlands seeks a dedicated Registered Veterinary Nurse for a 12-month fixed term contract. Join a specialist-led referral team where your nursing skills truly matter

Pride Veterinary Referrals are looking for a compassionate and motivated Registered Veterinary Nurse to join our Neurology team on a 12-month fixed term contract. This is an exciting opportunity to work within a multi-disciplinary referral hospital where nursing is valued, supported, and fully utilised.

Based at our Pride Park referral centre, you will be part of a passionate, specialist-led team delivering outstanding care to patients with complex neurological conditions.

This is a varied and hands-on role where no two days are the same. You will be actively involved in all aspects of neurological nursing, supporting patients from admission through to recovery and discharge.

Your responsibilities will include:

  • Triaging emergency neurology cases
  • Delivering high-quality inpatient care, including physiotherapy support and bladder management
  • Running nurse clinics such as post-operative consultations, physiotherapy plan creation, client support clinics and discharge appointments
  • Monitoring anaesthesia and sedation for advanced procedures including MRI, CT and other diagnostic imaging
  • Assisting with neurology consultations and procedures
  • Attending daily clinical rounds and handovers
  • Preparing and managing internal and external laboratory samples
You will also work closely with our experienced rehabilitation team, including qualified Physiotherapists and Hydrotherapists, gaining valuable exposure to rehabilitation nursing.
The Team

You will join a well-established Neurology team made up of:

  • 3 Residents
  • 2 Interns
  • 3 Registered Veterinary Nurses
The team is supportive, collaborative, and committed to delivering exceptional patient care. Full training and ongoing support will be provided, making this role suitable for nurses looking to develop specialist skills.
What We’re Looking For

We’re looking for an RVN who is enthusiastic, hardworking and keen to learn.

  • Registered Veterinary Nurse
  • A strong focus on patient care and welfare
  • Ability to work both independently and as part of a team
  • Proactive, organised and motivated
  • Experience in Neurology nursing
  • Referral hospital experience
  • Interest or experience in rehabilitation nursing
If you do not have direct neurology or referral experience, we would still encourage you to apply, as full support and training will be provided.
