Overview

Regional Manager Health & Safety, Security, Quality & Compliance for Airbase GSE within the UK and Germany. The role oversees Health & Safety, Compliance, and Regulatory Affairs to ensure alignment with organisational policies and external regulatory requirements (including EASA, UK CAA, and customer-specific standards). The role ensures the Airbase GSE business operates safely, legally, and efficiently while promoting a positive HSSE safety culture throughout the organisation.

Responsibilities
  • Monitor regulatory changes through regulatory body websites and portals and coordinate with authorities on safety matters.
  • Monitor customer portals for changes affecting operations.
  • Assume responsibility for all compliance and safety issues and implement changes and staff updates as required.
  • Monitor and update internal safety systems and inform regulators of changes.
  • Carry out all Part 145 training requirements, competency assessments, and issue authorisations as required.
  • Attend internal and regulatory meetings related to Health & Safety, Security, Compliance, Quality and Training.
  • Conduct internal audits as programmed and participate in on-site external audits.
  • Oversee compliance in line with applicable regulations and standards.
  • Conduct regular safety audits and assessments to identify potential hazards.
  • Develop and manage emergency response plans and procedures.
  • Provide training and guidance to staff on safety practices and emergency protocols.
  • Analyse safety data and trends to drive continuous improvement in safety performance.
  • Collaborate with other departments to integrate safety considerations into operational processes.
  • Manage investigations of safety incidents and implement corrective actions.
  • Stay updated with latest industry safety regulations, trends, and best practices.
  • Conduct monthly safety meetings with representatives from the operations team and communicate key safety information to all staff levels.
  • Establish and maintain a safety reporting system for employees to report hazards.
  • Foster a company-wide culture of safety and compliance awareness.
  • Work as part of the Primeflight / Skytanking HSSE team to review and manage HSSE KPIs and trends, and make recommendations for safety improvements.
Regulatory And Organisational Compliance
  • Monitor and interpret regulatory changes via relevant bodies (e.g., EASA, UK CAA) and ensure timely internal dissemination and implementation.
  • Oversee updates and submissions to regulators regarding changes to CMMs/IPLs; maintain robust communication with regulatory authorities.
  • Maintain oversight of Part 145 training and competency requirements, including issuing staff authorisations where applicable.
  • Attend internal, regulatory, and customer meetings to ensure ongoing compliance with Safety, Training, and Compliance standards.
  • Serve as the nominated person on the EASA Part 145 MOE (Maintenance Organisation Exposition), ensuring fulfilment of duties and regulatory obligations.
  • Lead and participate in internal audits and attend on-site external audit sessions to ensure continued compliance across all locations.
  • Ensure that the MOE and related documentation remain current and reflective of regulatory expectations.
Health & Safety and Security Management
  • Drive the implementation of Health & Safety and Security policies and risk management practices.
  • Lead incident investigations and implement corrective and preventative actions.
  • Promote a proactive safety culture through engagement, visibility, and training.
  • Ensure COSHH, RIDDOR, and H&S legal obligations are met across all sites.
  • Develop and deliver training plans for H&S and Security competencies and regulatory awareness.
  • Oversee and manage the H&S and safety programs for a specific division within the airport.
  • Coordinate with various departments to ensure a cohesive approach to safety management.
  • Provide safety training and education to employees, emphasising best practices and compliance.
  • Develop emergency response plans and oversee safety drills and exercises.
  • Maintain records and documentation related to safety initiatives and incidents.
  • Stay updated on new safety regulations and industry trends.
  • Build a culture of safety awareness and proactive risk management among staff.
Training & Development
  • Lead the planning and delivery of compliance and safety training across the business.
  • Maintain training records to ensure all staff hold current, role-appropriate authorisations.
  • Ensure compliance with Part 145 and customer-specific training requirements.
Customer & Stakeholder Engagement
  • Attend and represent the business at customer meetings regarding Compliance, Safety, and Training.
  • Monitor customer portals for updates affecting Cabin and Cargo operations, ensuring internal alignment and implementation.
  • Liaise with internal departments and external stakeholders to ensure expectations are met and exceeded.
Data & Reporting
  • Analyse and report safety/compliance KPIs, trends, and audit outcomes to senior leadership and regulatory bodies.
  • Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual reports, highlighting risks, non-conformances, and improvements.
Line Management & Team Leadership
  • Provide day-to-day leadership and development of the Compliance & Safety team.
  • Set objectives, conduct appraisals, and ensure continuous professional development for team members.
Part145/21 Responsibilities & Duties
  • Report to the Accountable Manager for all Safety & Compliance issues.
  • Ensure workmanship quality meets organisational and regulatory standards.
  • Maintain training records and implement ongoing training programs and on-the-job evaluation.
  • Ensure work is performed in accordance with regulations through audits of functions and sites.
  • Ensure employees are familiar with procedures as laid down in company documents.
  • Ensure all administrative duties are carried out accurately and timely.
Qualifications & Experience
  • Sound knowledge/understanding of Part 145 (CAA, EASA, FAA), Part M, Part 66 & Part 21 Regulations.
  • Excellent organisational, communication, and negotiation skills.
  • Excellent technical skills and MS Office/Project Management skills.
  • Commitment to high quality performance; ability to prioritise and work under pressure.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Form 4 position capable.
  • Compliance Monitoring Manager (CMM) and Safety Manager (SM) credentials with regulatory bodies.
  • Experience with supplier/customer relationships and aviation industry exposure.
  • Experience with cross-border regulatory compliance (UK CAA and EASA interfaces).
  • Strong incident investigation methodology knowledge and ability to interface with regulators and airline customers.
  • Problem solving, decision making and commercial awareness.
